Karen has a deep passion for walking alongside clients in recovery and helping families understand the disease of addiction. She believes in the power of education, compassion, and community to help both loved ones and the individuals themselves navigate the healing journey.
She earned her BA in Psychology from Dallas Baptist University and her MS in Counseling from Southern Methodist University, and she brings extensive professional experience in the field of addictionāpaired with personal insight from long-term recovery and from loving family and friends who have faced addiction themselves.
For the past seven years at Harmony, Karen has served in a variety of roles, with a strong focus on family programming. She offers a Family Education PresentationĀ that provides practical guidance, emotional support, and tools for families, as well as leading an ongoing, peer-led family support meeting every Wednesday evening.
Outside of work, Karen enjoys camping, traveling, and spending quality time with her family, friends, and two beloved cats, Matilda and Stash.
